Amira : Abah why must tunang? Why cannot get married straight away?

Man, another difficult question. I usually try to answer as quickly as possible so as to show interest. But as always, her questions needed some thinking to say the right thing. The topic came up when I told her that I was bringing her to Woodlands to discuss her Mami Zimah’s engagement. She was probably thinking of Mami Zizah’s engagement earlier this year too.

Abah : We must meet and confirm date of the wedding. So that is tunang.

Dont let my answer fool you. It was a stutter as I scrambled for the right words. At time it came muffled.
