Im so dead! Now I have to pay my dues...

It is the time of the year again where I get all psyched up with Amirul sitting for his 2010 primary four final exam. His mid year results were little to be desired. Careless and incompleteness were his main issues in losing easy marks especially for maths and english. Ive tried everything; to analysing where the mistakes were and how to get him to counter them even if it means doing an extra step especially for maths. Even if its in MCQ, to underline or bracket above the question to make it appear clearly. In maths his carelessness was his main downfall where in the working he would times wrongly or get the right answer but in the answer part, wrote a different one because his 5 would look like 3 or 4 would like 9. In science, his downfall would be the lack of meat in his answers. Have to explain to him that in science he would need to answer fully to give reasons for an occurrence. So i got him to remember for every component there are parts to them like if effects of heat, must remember and write about the object's conductor ability, whether gain or lose heat fast or slow and expand or contract.
